350Denver Actions & Events

A 350 event
Dozens of events are scheduled
scroll down for a list!

The list below shows all known activities planned in the Metro Denver area (Northglenn to Parker, Evergreen to Aurora) by many different groups. 350Denver is happy to list them as a way of encouraging participation in our region.

All 350 events -- in the Denver Metro area, or anywhere else in the world -- should be registered with the global 350.org coordinators. The links below are generally to the full description of each event on the 350.org website.

The 350.org website has a map of Denver-area events that have been registered. That map can be scrolled or zoomed to find events in other areas.

What is an "event"?
350Denver is encouraging local individuals and groups to plan 350 events for October 24.

In the strategy of the 350.org movement, an "event" seems to have several characteristics:

  1. It is a gathering of people on, or near, October 24 that will have a message of urgent and effective action to minimize climate change. The gathering can take almost any form -- a political rally, a worship service, an environmental service project, a neighborhood conversation, or just some people getting together to affirm the "350" message.

  2. The event will be registered with 350.org as a part of the global day of action (and, for events in the Denver area, please notify 350Denver.org, too!)

  3. A photograph will be taken of the people gathered which shows the number "350", and the photo will be submitted to the 350.org website as a visible expression of the strong grassroots support for climate action.

If you're planning an event, or participating in one: be creative, spread the message about 350 "as the most important number on Earth", and engage people in the movement!

Overlapping & Interconnected Events: In the list of events and actions above, there are some groups who are sponsoring several events (such as the Denver Inner City Parish), and others where one activity feeds into a later one (such as the preparation of prayer flags that will be displayed at the public rally). We have considered events to be separate when each component uses a distinctive strategy in order to reach a unique constituency with the 350 message.
